Singapore is one of the rising innovation hot spots in the global arena. This seminar will examine the environment for science based entrepreneurship and technology transfer in Singapore, as well as the emerging structural shifts in Singapore towards a more entrepreneurial and innovative regional high tech hub over the last decade.
Important changes have occurred in the underlying "enterprise ecosystem" for the Singapore economy as a whole, as well as for two key high tech clusters - the larger, more established electronics manufacturing cluster, and the information and communications technology (ICT) services cluster. The emergence of the biotech cluster will be discussed, and also the policy changes that have been instituted by the government.
